A New Beginning

The second day of January in the year two-thousand and twelve. Welcome, we've made it.

The new year was brought in like any other. There was merriment and electricity, but for me it quickly faded. Just as the hope of a new calendar arrived it was replaced by the redundancy and perpetuity of time. New Year's Eve always seems like a simple, meaningless mile-marker on the road of life. Just a symbol of how far you've come, or perhaps worse yet, how far you have left to go. No matter how hard you try to change it, the January 1st hangover is but a reminder of your humanity and the troubles that followed you from the previous year.

The year 2012 will bring many things. Joys, pains, struggles, triumphs and an incredible amount of life's minutiae. Hopefully this reflection and analysis will unlock the doors we've been trying to break down.
